balmain spring/summer 2011

     The Balmain Spring/Summer show 2011 was one of the highlights of Paris fashion week. Designer Christophe Decarnin gave us a deconstructed 80s punk meets military collection. A harder edge this season with lots of cropped trousers, shorts, and safety-pin embellished jackets, when you combine this with the sounds of Sid Vicious singing Frank Sinatra on the catwalk, you definitely have a punk rock theme. No more cocktail fancy dresses or metallic elegant gowns, no more silver or gold, the fabulous designer is ready to move over the sexy party dresses and bring out a hardcore appearance inspired by the punk-rock ages with stylish modern touches over the entire show. With glittery glamorous accents, skinny jeans or leggings and sexy corsets, the balance between a rough image and feminine influences is stable....
